The Swedish airbag helmet manaufacturer Hövding experiences quite good demand in Denmark and in particularly, among urban cyclists of Copenhagen. During 2018 the Danish sales have doubled.
In second quarter of 2018 Hövding had a turnover of 25,2 million SEK including all markets. The customers prefer the airbag helmet due to the convenience of wearing a collar instead of the classic helmet.
The retail price is around 2,000 DKK in Denmark which is roughly 2 times more than a normal helmet with MIPS. It is vital to turn it off when you do not ride your bike as it prevents the airbag from triggering by accident.
