Bike commuting improves your health

According to a survey by the consulting company Incentive the number of sick days among Danes could fall with 267,000 days every year. Incentive has made the survey on request by the Confederation of Danish Industry

The potential net effect could be up to 112,000 work days more of the total of 267,000 less sick days. The traffic congestion in Greater Copenhagen may itself cause stress for motorists and by riding a bike, employees in general as well improve health as arrive less stressed at work according to a Human Resource manager – as stated in the Danish article.

For preventing a high turnover of employee one company plans to nurse and nudge the employee into becoming bike commuters instead of driving cars.
