In the Netherlands, the Dutch Delft University of Technology and bike manufacturer Royal Dutch Gazelle work together on the project “Faster and Safer cornering with sensorbike”.
The intention is to develop the world’s first bike that smart it corrects the positioning itself if the cyclist risks falling. By mounting a small electric engine in the handlebar and a sensor the bike can prevent the cyclist from falling.
The sensor bike system can support the cyclist in maintaining the balance from speeds of 4 km/h. You can read more in the article and the video is on Royal Dutch Gazelle.
