In 2016 13,600 people paid a visit to Copenhagen Bike Show. Compared to the premier edition in 2015 it is an 30% increase. Media’s from over ten different countries covered the bike show. This year the number of foreign exhibitors had increased too with exhibitors from Germany, Sweden, France, Italy, United States, Taiwan and Bangladesh.
As well visitors as exhibitors gave positive feedback on the exhibition segmentation in different zones; Road+MTB, TRI Zone, Urban living, E-Mobility, Kids Zone and Get-A-Ways. The zones enabled the visitors to check out preferred categories of products or to do a good bargain.
Visit by the Prime Minister & Useful or Entertaining Presentations
The Danish Prime Minister, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, who is a passionate cyclist himself, visited the bike show as well Friday as Sunday. He went for attending charity auctions in favour of “LøkkeFonden” and as a result over 40,000 DKK were raised. The amount will support teenage boys in improving to learn and personal development.
Furthermore, guests and exhibitors gave presentations on bike maintenance, training, insights of professional cycling and cycling movies. The visitors took great pleasure of attending the presentations.
High Number of Visitors Challenged Parking Capacity
Especially the high number of visitors Saturday surprised us and unfortunately it became a challenge to park despite an extension of space for additional 200 cars compared to 2015. In 2017 we will improve the parking information in a clearer and more straightforward way. The parking staff will be extended too.
Copenhagen Bike Show 2016 Was Good. 2017 Will Be Even Better
For improving in 2017 we have begun the evaluation of 2016. In 2015 there was too much space between stands but this year the exhibition area was far better utilized. The next step is to improve the visitors’ experience of passing through the exhibition area.
For potential visitors who live further away like in Aarhus, Odense and Ålborg we consider to offer travel packages with bus transportation. In this way the visitors can warm up the cycling spirit with i.e. a cycling movie or talking to other cycling passionate people.
We look forward to meet you at the Copenhagen Bike Show in 2017.
